Graduate Nursing Program Director & PMHNP Lead Faculty
Position Summary
The Graduate Nursing Program Director will oversee the online MSN programs (educator and administrator tracks), MSN-FNP, and MSN-MHNP programs. Key responsibilities include ensuring program compliance, leading the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner specialty concentration, and managing admissions and recruitment.
Essential Functions
Curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation
Program admissions and recruitment
Serve as student advocate and mentor
Maintain professional licensure
Develop and maintain program policies and procedures
Coordinate academic schedule
Manage orientation of new faculty
Assign faculty and student mentors
Submit required annual reports and coordinate development of CCNE self-study
Update Student Handbooks to ensure accuracy and relevance
Coordinate departmental faculty committees and nursing advisory committees
Ensure continuous program evaluation
Perform other related duties as assigned
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Lead Faculty
Quality oversight of the educational component of the PMHNP specialty concentration
Advising on courses and reviewing clinical documentation activities
Mentoring new faculty, including adjuncts
Ensuring standardization of PMHNP specialty didactic and clinical courses
Collaborating with the MSN Program Director and Chair of the Division
Serving as a liaison between the MSN Program Director and PMHNP faculty
Handling first contact for PMHNP students with course or program concerns
Teaching, mentoring, and participating in departmental, university, and professional activities
Orienting and training new PMHNP adjunct faculty
Requirements
Terminal degree (DNP, PhD, or EdD) from an accredited institution of higher learning
Current and unencumbered RN licensure in KSCurrent PMHNP license in the state of practice
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with board certification
Actively practicing as a PMHNP
Three (3) years’ academic teaching experience in a graduate program and/or pre- or post-licensure registered nursing program
Prior online teaching experience preferred, higher education teaching experience with experience teaching and leading at the graduate level
Familiarity with Typhon and working with multiple state boards of nursing (preferred)
Experience collaborating with and coordinating groups of diverse individuals
Experience with curriculum development, program planning and evaluation, and student learning outcomes assessment
Experience with CCNE accreditation requirements
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills
