Graduate Mechanical Engineer

Primary Responsibilities

  • Aid in the design and engineering of building mechanical systems, such as HVAC, plumbing, hydronic piping, DDC, smoke control, and emergency generator systems.
  • Evaluate HVAC and plumbing system design alternatives considering energy performance, environmental impact, constructability, and life-cycle cost analysis.
  • Create and coordinate conceptual and schematic design documents, and assist in advancing projects through design development and construction documents under the supervision of licensed engineers.
  • Multidisciplinary project coordination and support senior engineers in managing design scope, schedule, and budget alignment.
  • Conduct field visits, site surveys, inspections, and assessments to verify existing conditions, evaluate system performance, and ensure compliance with design intent and applicable codes.
  • Prepare technical reports, engineering studies, feasibility analyses, and design narratives for mechanical and plumbing systems.
  • Review shop drawings, product data, and submittals for conformance with contract documents and design intent.
  • Participate in project meetings and coordinate effectively with internal team members, clients, contractors, and other disciplines.
  • Support construction administration activities, including responding to RFIs and performing site observations during construction.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned in support of project and team needs.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or a related technical discipline).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • EIT certification or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Familiarity with engineering design tools including AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit software; experience with Autodesk Revit is strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively in a team-oriented, multidisciplinary environment.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and a positive attitude in client-facing and project settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment supporting multiple concurrent projects, with strong self-motivation and effective prioritization of tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical information to team members, clients, and project stakeholders.
