About the role

The Wayside Women’s Treatment Center, located in Saint Louis Park, offers a gender-specific residential treatment program for women with substance use or dual diagnosis treatment. The Family Treatment Center in Minneapolis provides services to women and their children in both residential and non-residential settings. The Outpatient Internship in Saint Paul operates in a non-residential setting, typically lasting 12-16 weeks.

Responsibilities & Essential Functions

  • Under the supervision of an LADC, provide coverage to clinical teams as assigned.
  • Manage a small case load of women with co-occurring disorders.
  • Provide direct services to clients including interviewing clients, assessment, treatment/aftercare planning, individual and group counseling, and monitoring/evaluating client progress.
  • Facilitate counseling and didactic groups; educational groups; conduct family meetings when possible.
  • Participate in weekly multidisciplinary staff meetings.
  • Maintain accurate, timely and complete records, including but not limited to documenting client assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, continuing care plans and discharge summaries.
  • Maintain on-going communication with referral sources, including written progress reports and phone communication.
  • Model behavior consistent with and supportive to people in recovery from substance use disorders.
  • Attend commencements and client events as scheduled.
  • Identify available resources and refer clients to appropriate community services.
  • Facilitate client access to community resources.
  • Serve as a liaison to and/or provide in-services to substance use disorder and other related community service agencies as directed.
  • Participate in in-services, workshops, coursework, and other continuing education relative to quality client care.
  • Provide crisis intervention/evaluation as needed.
  • Participate in clinical supervision as outlined and indicated by the students school and licensing entity, with the minimum frequency of twice monthly.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to provide programming and relate effectively towards clients and families of diverse economic and cultural backgrounds.
  • Organizational and excellent computer skills essential.
  • Strong attention to detail, thinking capabilities and humor are welcome.
  • Must be able to demonstrate an ability to be responsive in an effective manner, while maintaining a warm and supportive atmosphere.
  • Must be able to pass DHS background study and meet applicable requirements and regulations.
  • A valid Minnesota driver's license with a good driving record.
  • No DUIs in last three years; No more than three moving violations/accidents in past three years.
  • Must be able to pass a Minnesota DHS background study.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365 and Outlook.
  • CPR certification required.
