About the role
Neel-Schaffer is an Engineering News-Record Top 200 engineering design, planning and construction management firm based in Atlanta, GA. This position is available in their Water Resources team, which works on diverse projects in Water Resources, Hydrology/Hydraulics, and MS4.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate on various types of drainage, flood control, bridge hydraulic studies/designs, bridge scour analyses, storm water management studies, and design/contract plans for flood control and storm water infrastructure projects.
- Work within a team environment, demonstrating strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Perform a limited amount of field work, including drainage investigations, topographic surveying, drainage asset inventorying, etc.
- Write technical reports and possess working knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related degree(s).
- Must have passed the Fundamental of Engineering (FE) exam.
- 1-3 years of experience with technical work in Water Resources / Hydrology / Hydraulics.
- Experience with HEC-RAS 1D/2D, SMS SRH2D, EPA-SWMM/PCSWMM 1D/2D, HEC-HMS, HydraFlow, HydroCAD, StormCAD, or equivalent programs is preferred.
- Experience with Bentley products (ORD, GEOPAK, InROADS, etc), AutoCAD, and/or ArcGIS is preferred.
- Experience with technical report writing and working knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite.

- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills necessary with the ability to plan and conceptualize.
