Responsibilities
A typical week might include a variety of tasks, such as:
- Performing a variety of fundamental design tasks to gain familiarity with programs and procedures applicable to public infrastructure consulting engineering.
- Expanding your engineering toolbox and vocabulary to add knowledge of advanced techniques, applied theory, industry concepts, and best practices.
- Investigating existing site conditions, jurisdictional criteria, and constraints to inform design iterations and direction.
- Obtaining project information from clients or other LJA personnel as directed.
- Attending design review meetings and coordinating with other team members to execute multidisciplinary projects.
- Plan preparation, design calculations, and specification preparation on Schematic and PS&E projects.
- Working in an office equipped with meeting rooms, amenities, and excellent technology.
- Checking in with your manager and other engineering mentors to identify areas of excellence and growth opportunities.
Requirements
The following qualifications are required:
- Bachelor of Science Degree from ABET accredited university (Civil Engineering Preferred)
- Engineer-in-Training or ability to obtain in 6 months
- Experiences with AutoCAD/MicroStation
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to build strong relationships
Bonus points if you have:
- Previous work experience in an AEC related firm
- Passed the FE Exam
