Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of engineering drawings, specifications, and special provisions.
- Support field inspections and contribute to the development of evaluation reports.
- Collect and analyze data to prepare clear, concise technical reports.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support project planning and execution.
- Work under direct supervision to create or revise civil and structural design documents and drawings.
- Perform engineering support tasks, including calculations.
- Learn and apply relevant industry standards.
- Gain proficiency in using the document management system and adhere to corporate engineering practices.
- Participate in site visits to gain hands-on experience.
- Demonstrate accountability for the quality and accuracy of assigned work.
- Proactively identify and communicate potential project issues and suggest possible solutions.
- May remain in stationary position for extended periods.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis and up to 75 lbs. periodically.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (or related field) required.
- Prior internship, co-op, or research experience in a related field is a plus.
- Successful completion of the FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) exam within one year of employment is required if not already certified.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and the ability to operate a motor vehicle is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Products (e.g., Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.).
- Work is primarily performed in an office environment with standard office equipment.
- Must be able to work onsite at a WSB office, as needed, up to five days per week, as required by the project, client, or hiring manager.
- Travel or field visits may be required to support project needs. Sites may include active construction areas, active roadways, or off-road areas.
