Graduate Engineer, Geotechnical
About the role
We are seeking a Graduate Engineer to join our dynamic team. The role involves assisting in engineering projects, supporting field inspections, and contributing to the development of evaluation reports. This position offers hands-on experience in various engineering disciplines in a collaborative and innovative setting.
Responsibilities
- Aid in the preparation of engineering drawings, specifications, and special provisions.
- Support field inspections and contribute to the development of evaluation reports.
- Collect and analyze data to prepare clear, concise technical reports.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support project planning and execution.
- Create or revise civil and structural design documents and drawings under direct supervision.
- Perform engineering support tasks, including calculations and structural analysis, with minimal supervision.
- Learn and apply relevant industry standards and gain proficiency in using the document management system.
- Participate in site visits to gain hands-on experience in substation construction and design.
- Demonstrate accountability for the quality and accuracy of assigned work.
- Proactively identify and communicate potential project issues and suggest possible solutions.
- May remain in stationary position for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis and up to 75 lbs. periodically.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (or related field) required. Prior internship, co-op, or research experience in a related field is a plus. Successful completion of the FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) exam within one year of employment is required if not already certified. Possession of a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and the ability to operate a motor vehicle is required.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Products (e.g. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc).
- Ability to work onsite at a WSB office, as needed, up to five days per week, as required by the project, client, or hiring manager.
- Travel or field visits may be required to support project needs, sites may include active construction areas, active roadways, or offroad areas.
- Travel may be required.
Skills
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.

- Basic knowledge of engineering software and tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
