Graduate Engineer - Civil

Ulteig is seeking talented and motivated candidates for a Graduate Civil Engineer role working out of our Denver, CO, Fargo, ND, or St. Paul, MN office. Remote locations may also be considered, supporting renewable development projects.

About the role

The Graduate Civil Engineer will perform routine engineering tasks and investigations or observations under supervision on wind and solar renewable energy projects across the country. Candidates should be self-motivated with excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to work in a team environment, committed to client satisfaction, and passionate about the renewable energy industry.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development of construction plans and specifications for utility-scale wind, solar, and/or BESS renewable projects
• Work closely with other engineering technicians and experienced engineers on multiple projects as assigned
• Perform typical civil design tasks including design calculation reports, grading and erosion control plans, construction details, and stormwater management design
• Design and production in AutoCAD Civil 3D software
• Prepare project quantity take-offs and/or cost estimates
• Support and develop project permit applications
• Technically involved with the resolution of design problems, which may include performing field investigations or observations
• Work with project discipline leads to perform necessary design calculations, sketches, and plan preparation as assigned
• Provide technical comparisons and similar technical work within the assigned market

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required
• EIT certification or the ability to obtain within 1 year of hire
• Prior engineering internship experience preferred
• Ability to apply standard engineering principles and practices
• Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
• AutoCAD experience preferred; Autodesk Civil 3D experience desired
• Must have authorization to work permanently in the US

Pay

Target base compensation range for this role is $77,300–$85,500.
