Responsibilities

  • Aid in generating and developing calculations, design layouts (power, lighting, fire alarm, security, telecommunications), single line diagrams, grounding plans, details, and schedule sheets.
  • Perform 3D modeling using Revit for electrical equipment, cable tray, and conduit routing, lighting design, security, fire alarm, and telecommunications systems.
  • Contribute to the development of sustainable and net-zero design solutions for clients.
  • Collaborate with vendors and other disciplines to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Deliver agreed-upon design scope within budget hours and schedule.
  • Create project documents (calculations, reports, construction drawings, and specifications) according to regulatory and industry standards.
  • Coordinate with internal and external teams (vendors, clients, contractors) as needed.
  • Analyze codes and apply them to the Electrical and Fire Alarm disciplines.
  • Research electrical/utility materials and methods as required.
  • Support the design development of project packages and coordinate with the design team under the guidance of the Lead Electrical Engineer.
  • Perform lighting calculations, power calculations (standby/emergency power, UPS, normal power), and assist with arc flash, short circuit, and coordination studies.
  • Select equipment based on recommendations from the Lead Electrical Engineer and complete equipment schedules.
  • Size and develop layouts for cable tray and underground/above-ground conduit plans.
  • Provide construction assistance through submittal reviews, RFI responses, and field visits.
  • Contribute to special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Preferred previous Co-op or Internship experience in the field of Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
  • The ability to travel as needed for client and project development.
  • Local to the office and capable of coming in 4 days a week to start.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $75,000 – $85,000 annually. This range represents the base salary that PM Group reasonably expects to pay for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered will depend on factors such as work location, qualifications, skills, and relevant experience.
