Graduate Design Engineers

About the role

IMEG, a leading design consulting firm, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Idaho Falls, ID or Sacramento, CA. The role involves working closely with a team to provide engineering solutions and advice to clients.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and analysis of HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems, using engineering software and tools.
• Communicate technical information effectively to clients.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations.
• Analyze low to medium complexity engineering tasks and propose innovative solutions.
• Contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG.
• Prioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
• Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred.
• Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong technical and analytical skills, including knowledge of thermodynamics, psychrometrics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics.
• Knowledge of industry standard engineering software and tools, including HVAC load calculation software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
• Basic knowledge in the use of BIM software.
• Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to travel up to 5% with occasional overnight stays.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $77,000 per year, with individual pay based on experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Individual pay may vary based on location.

Schedule

Full-time position with occasional travel up to 5%.
