About the role

The Electronic Systems Laboratory (ELSYS) is currently seeking a Graduate Student Intern in the Electronic Systems Lifecycle (ESL) Division, located in Warner Robins, Georgia, for the Fall 2026 semester.

Responsibilities

  • Work under the guidance of GTRI researchers performing research and development in one of the following areas: Cybersecurity analysis, Cybersecurity policy implementation, Cybersecurity compliance for avionics systems
  • Develop system security engineering solutions for avionics systems
  • Investigate avionics systems interconnections and cybersecurity vulnerabilities
  • Develop RMF compliance solutions and documentation

Requirements

  • Intern pursuing a Master's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering
  • 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA
  • Part-Time Intern – Must be registered for 6+ credit hours

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minor or significant classes in cybersecurity
  • Experience in developing RMF solutions to cybersecurity issues
  • Completion of Security+ or (ISC)2 Certified in Cybersecurity certification
  • Experience in the use of configuration management tools
  • Strong math skills and ability to learn complex engineering concepts
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas
  • Ability to perform research independently and on teams
  • Task / team leadership experience
