Responsibilities

• Assist faculty, including supervising laboratories under their supervision
• Grade quizzes, homework, and other projects
• Assist with other course and research related duties as assigned
• Provide one-on-one academic tutoring to teach and reteach concepts to H.E.L.P. students
• Offer assistance with developing study strategies
• Work with students to develop a plan that fits the student’s individual needs
• Assist students in developing a schedule for study sessions
• Clarify/augment student notes from lecture
• Teach concepts using multi-sensory techniques to maximize student understanding and recall
• Teach organization and time management skills
• Monitor students’ progress through communication with students and professors
• Send notification to professors regarding students’ with disabilities and accommodations
• Organize and facilitate testing accommodations according to students’ diagnosis for compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act and Vocational Rehabilitation Act
• Proctor exams under supervision
• Maintain student attendance records
• Notify students and parents regarding students’ absences from tutoring sessions
• Write End of Semester Reports for each student
• Participate in scheduled tutor training and development sessions

Required Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree
• Experience: Must be able to perform duties as described in the job description
