Graduate Assistant Coach for Men's Soccer

Responsibilities

  • Effectively recruit qualified student-athletes, meeting the annual goal set by Admissions & Athletics
  • Attend recruitment trips, as needed, to recruit student athletes
  • Cookordination and implementation of NCAA official and non-official on campus recruiting visits
  • Effectively retain student-athletes through regular engagement and monitoring
  • Aid with all aspects of practice and game preparation and implementation including individual player development
  • Conduct regular and individual monitoring and mentoring sessions to assist student-athlete’s academic endeavors resulting in strong retention and graduation rates
  • Aid with the development and implementation of fundraising activities
  • Aid with the planning and development of community service activities
  • Work with various campus constituents such as admissions, facilities, development, academic advising, etc.
  • Aid the head coach with alumni and family relations activities
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all NCAA and conference rules and regulations
  • Provide supervision and staffing of athletic events and special events as assigned
  • Serve as additional travel coordinator for all team trips including confirming transportation, departure times as well as coordinate meals for the team while away from campus
  • Cookordinate all practice and game times with Assistant & Associate Athletic Directors

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Collegiate or professional playing experience
  • Valid Driver’s License

Skills

  • Previous recruiting and coaching experience
  • Ability to perform sport specific drills, demonstrate activities, and setup sport specific training aids/facility
  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with student athletes, coaches, campus community, and alumni
  • Time management skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Basic video knowledge preferred
  • Understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of Manhattanville University

Benefits

  • Salary: $5,000
  • Stipend paid over 10 months
  • Tuition Remission (9 credits per semester)
  • Subject to maintaining a 3.0 GPA each semester for a maximum of four academic semesters
  • Summer classes are subject to approval
  • On-Campus Housing (dorm style; single room not an option)
  • Limited Meal Plan Hours

Pay

  • $5,000

Schedule

  • Part-time, average load of 20 hours per week over the duration of the appointment period
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, overnights and weekends
  • Travel to competition(s) as assigned
