Grades 3-8 Science Teacher

About the Role

St. Rose of Lima, an Independence Mission School, is seeking a Grades 3-8 Science Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The teacher should have a strong understanding of evidence-based, age-appropriate curriculum and instructional strategies, enthusiasm for innovative practices, and a willingness to participate as an active member of a multi-disciplinary team. The successful candidate will adapt activities to incorporate the diverse strengths of students and model outstanding character with a commitment to the moral formation of students.

Responsibilities

• Set high behavioral and academic expectations for students.
• Implement effective classroom management systems and maintain a positive, respectful, productive culture of learning.
• Deliver engaging and effective lessons to students at various skill levels, using data to inform instruction, and provide additional support or advanced challenges as needed.
• Communicate with parents regularly about student progress, classroom activities, and any concerns.
• Be an enthusiastic learner, committed to growth as an educator, and apply skills learned through coaching, grade-level teamwork, and professional development.

Requirements

• High School Degree (required).
• Clearances on all required background checks (required).
• Experience teaching or working with children in an educational setting (preferred).
• Content aptitude and a passion for education.
• A track record of leading students to successfully achieve academic and behavioral expectations.
