Grade Music Teacher

Job Summary

The Music Teacher (MT) will provide the Music Program for all school students at St. Joseph Academy. The MT will plan, prepare and deliver developmentally-appropriate music lessons to all grade levels K4-8, including preparing school students for the Holiday Concert and Spring Concert.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required
• Valid DPI license
• 1+ years developing and implementing specialized programming in an elementary school or middle school
• Bilingual speaker (Spanish) preferred

• Establishes appropriate relationships with children, parents/guardians, staff, and the public which ensures a safe environment that protects children/families’ rights
• Communicates verbally and in writing all pertinent information to support the education department’s programs
• Communicates pertinent information with members of the team and appropriate departments to ensure response to requests, concerns, or issues
• Develop and implement age appropriate music programming

Physical and Mental Requirements

• Occasionally - lifting up to 25 pounds, rarely lifting over 25 pounds, walking, standing, bending, reaching
• Frequently - hand manipulation/dexterity when writing, using PC, and using other office equipment
• Continuously - sitting

Environmental Conditions

• Occasional exposure to infectious or communicable diseases inherent to care of ill children
• Occasional exposure to loud or unpleasant voices due to unpredictable behavior of children
• Seasonal exposure to high humidity due to temperature control of the facility, heat and cold due to the internal and external environment
