About the role
The position is for a full-time Grade 2 teacher at Killingly Memorial School, starting in October 2026 through January 2027.
Responsibilities
- Teach Grade 2 curriculum aligned with state standards.
- Instruct students in reading, writing, mathematics, science, social studies, and other subjects.
- Develop lesson plans and assessments based on student needs and educational goals.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement effective teaching strategies.
- Maintain classroom management and ensure a safe learning environment.
- Assist students with individualized education plans (IEPs).
Requirements
- Current Connecticut certification (305).
- Bachelor's degree in education or related field.
- At least two years of successful teaching experience at the elementary level.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents.

- Knowledge of current educational theories and practices.
- Effective use of technology in the classroom.
- Passion for teaching and a commitment to student success.
