About the role

We are seeking a Graduate Pharmacy Intern to join our team. This role offers a unique opportunity to apply your didactic learning from pharmacy school into real-world practice, while gaining valuable experience and developing your skills for future responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Apply didactic learning from pharmacy school to real-world practice
  • Complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation
  • Support pharmacy teams to ensure smooth operations, prompt prescription filling, and accurate dispensing
  • Provide empathetic and caring service to patients, including offering vaccinations and other services
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating compassion and resolving or escalating patient issues
  • Operate as part of the pharmacy team, adhering to standard operating procedures and best practices
  • Participate in inventory management activities, as permitted by law
  • Support immunizations, including preparing and administering vaccines, educating patients, and monitoring adverse reactions
  • Collaborate with pharmacy leadership to enhance patient health and safety
  • Adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical principles

Requirements

  • PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the Post-Graduate Training Program at CVS Health
  • Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within the required timeframe, per state guidelines
  • Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
  • Attention and focus: Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time and pivot quickly between tasks
  • Customer service and team orientation: Actively look for ways to help people and respond appropriately to colleagues and patients
  • Communication skills: Use and understand verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues
  • Mathematical reasoning: Ability to use math to solve problems, such as determining the total number of tablets to dispense
  • Problem resolution: Identify challenging patient or colleague interactions and choose the best course of action
  • Physical demands: Be mobile and remain upright for extended periods of time, lift, scan, and bag items, reach overhead, stretch or reach out with the body, arms, and/or legs to grasp items, move fingers repetitively, pick, pinch, type, or otherwise work primarily with fingers rather than whole hand or arm, extend hand(s) and arm(s) multiple directions to place, move, or lift items, control precision, quickly adjust machines to exact positions, stoop to a considerable degree, requiring full use of the lower extremities and back muscles to move items between low and high positions, including bending spine at the waist, close visual acuity to perform activities such as: transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, reading, visual inspection involving small parts, occasionally lift of up to 20 lbs and/or exert up to 20 lbs. of force, frequently lift of up to 10 lbs and/or exert up to 10 lbs. of force, consistently lift and/or exert a negligible amount of force to move objects

Qualifications

Pay

The typical pay range for this role is $23.75 - $42.00. However, the actual pay will vary based on factors such as location, experience, and qualifications.

Schedule

This is a part-time position, typically working 20-30 hours per week.
