About the role

We are seeking a Graduate Pharmacy Intern to join our team. This role offers a unique opportunity to apply your pharmacy education in real-world settings, gain valuable experience, and prepare for a career as a Pharmacist.

Responsibilities

  • Apply didactic learning from pharmacy school to real-world practice
  • Complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation
  • Support pharmacy teams in ensuring smooth operations, prompt prescription filling, and patient care
  • Operate as part of the pharmacy team using standard operating procedures and effective communication
  • Provide empathetic and caring service to patients, including offering vaccinations and other services
  • Take on greater accountability for supporting management, oversight, and operations within the pharmacy
  • Contribute to a high-performing team, embrace a growth mindset, and seek opportunities to expand knowledge
  • Comply with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical principles, and adhere to CVS policies and procedures
  • Support additional patient health care services, including immunizations, point-of-care testing, and offsite clinic staffing

Requirements

  • PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the Post-Graduate Training Program at CVS Health
  • Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within the required timeframe, per state guidelines
  • Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends
  • Attention and focus: ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time and pivot quickly
  • Customer service and team orientation: actively looking for ways to help people and responding appropriately
  • Communication skills: using and understanding verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues
  • Mathematical reasoning: ability to use math to solve problems, such as determining the total number of tablets to dispense
  • Problem resolution: identifying challenging patient or colleague interactions and choosing the best course of action
  • Physical demands: be mobile and remain upright for extended periods of time, lift, scan, and bag items, reach overhead, stretch or reach out with the body, arms, and/or legs to grasp items, move fingers repetitively, pick, pinch, type, or otherwise work primarily with fingers rather than whole hand or arm, extend hand(s) and arm(s) multiple directions to place, move, or lift items, control precision, quickly adjust machines to exact positions, stoop to a considerable degree, requiring full use of the lower extremities and back muscles to move items between low and high positions, including bending spine at the waist, close visual acuity to perform activities such as: transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, reading, visual inspection involving small parts, occasionally lift of up to 20 lbs and/or exert up to 20 lbs. of force, frequently lift of up to 10 lbs and/or exert up to 10 lbs. of force, consistently lift and/or exert a negligible amount of force to move objects, express or exchange ideas by means of spoken word where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed accurately, have the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication

Qualifications

Pay

The typical pay range for this role is $23.75 - $42.00. However, the actual pay may vary based on factors such as location, experience, and qualifications.
