About the role
We are seeking a Graduate Pharmacy Intern to join our team. This role offers challenging opportunities to learn and grow professionally within our Retail locations. You will be immersed in a culture of continuous improvement, dedicated to transforming health care for our customers.
Responsibilities
- Apply your didactic learning from pharmacy school and pharmacy practice into real-world practice.
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation.
- Support the pharmacy team to ensure smooth operations, prompt prescription filling, and accurate dispensing.
- Provide empathetic and caring service to patients, offering immunizations and other services.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating compassion and resolving or escalating patient problems.
- Take on greater accountability for supporting management, oversight, and operations within the pharmacy.
- Support additional patient health care services, including immunizations, point-of-care testing, and offsite clinic staffing.
Requirements
- PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program prior to beginning the Post-Graduate Training Program at CVS Health.
- Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within the required timeframe, per state guidelines.
- Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Attention and focus: Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time.
- Customer service and team orientation: Actively look for ways to help people, and do so in a friendly manner.
- Communication skills: Use and understand verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues.
- Problem resolution: Identify challenging patient or colleague interactions and choose the best course of action when faced with multiple options.
- Physical demands: Be mobile and remain upright for extended periods of time.
- Mathematical reasoning: Ability to use math to solve a problem, such as determining the total number of tablets to dispense, day's supply, and/or number of full bottles and additional bottles needed to fill a prescription.
Qualifications

- Attention to detail: Maintain the highest level of self-awareness and provide in-the-moment coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members while sharing best practices.
- Attention to detail: Complete basic inventory activities, as permitted by law, and as directed by the pharmacy leadership team.
- Attention to detail: Understand and comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles.
- Attention to detail: Comply with CVS policies and procedures to ensure patient safety, compliance with controlled substance dispensing and recordkeeping, and to protect patient privacy and security.
- Attention to detail: Deliver additional patient health care services, including immunizations, point-of-care testing, and voluntarily staffing offsite clinics, where allowable by law and supported by required training and certification.
- Attention to detail: Complete additional licensure and training requirements, in compliance with state Board of Pharmacy regulations, to obtain Technician Immunizer status to support preparing and administering vaccines.
- Attention to detail: Monitor for, and respond to, adverse reactions; report adverse reaction events per public health requirements.
- Attention to detail: Review and collect patient information; track and document for each applicable patient.

Pay
The typical pay range for this role is $23.10 - $28.10 per hour.
Schedule
This is a part-time position, typically scheduled for 20-40 hours per week.
