Gown Prep/Eton 2 Material Handler
About the role
This position requires the employee to work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with all Company safety rules. It involves assisting in maintaining an uninterrupted flow of orders through the department, expediting rush and specialty orders, ensuring adequate stock, leading training for new employees, coordinating order priorities, inspecting finished product quality, cleaning machinery, operating automated machinery, learning all product lines, and working in other departments as needed.
Responsibilities
- Aids in maintaining an uninterrupted flow of orders through the department.
- Expedites rush and specialty orders to ensure timely delivery to customers.
- Maintains adequate stock in all areas to fulfill orders.
- Learns to operate automated machinery in the department.
- Trains new employees, including seasonal warehouse processing staff.
- Coordinates priority of orders to be completed.
- Inspects all component parts to ensure they meet quality standards and correspond to the bundling ticket.
- Joins materials using multi-needle sewing devices, as needed.
- Stocks binding, zippers, thread, etc.
- Gets paperwork ready for work in process, for all components.
- Helps lead keep orders in line for the team, for continuous work flow.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of all product lines.
- Proficient in all aspects of production within the department.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Reading, writing, and math skills commensurate with job duties.
- Physical strength and dexterity to perform essential job functions.
- Able to recognize colors and different cloth styles.
- Sitting or standing for 8 hours a day or longer.
- Ability to work in an environment with repetitive motions of the arms, wrists, and elbows.
- May require lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Able to work all mandatory overtime.
Qualifications
- Daily activity includes but is not limited to lifting, carrying, sitting, grasping, reaching, standing, kneeling, walking, bending, twisting.
- Reading, communication, math.
- Ability to regularly lift/move up to 50lbs.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of all product lines.
- Proficient in all aspects of production within the department.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Flexibility and willingness to learn new tasks.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
