Government Project Manager
About the Role
Oversees a group of individual government projects linked together through a shared organizational goal or common area of impact. This programmatic grouping of multiple projects provides synergy, consistent management, and greater visibility to stakeholders than individually managed projects.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the consistent delivery and relationships pertaining to government projects.
- Provides a consistent level of governance and application of standards across multiple projects, ensuring project statuses are rolled up for a global view and baseline quality requirements are evenly enforced.
- Delivers comprehensive yet efficient status updates to a broad audience in multiple formats with the appropriate level of detail, requiring strong written, verbal, and organizational communication capabilities.
- Sets direction based on contractual requirements to inform and shape the scope and schedule of individual projects, ensuring objectives and deadlines are clear.
- Asks probing questions to determine true project progress and takes necessary actions to meet contractual obligations.
- Solves problems by diving into details and assisting in creating action plans to ensure program success when obstacles or challenges arise.
- Creates alignment across multiple teams or lines of business to ensure project and company goals are met.
- Spots, tracks, and triages risks as they arise, escalating when required without over-alerting.
- Interprets project progress and ties it back to budgets, deadlines, and strategic objectives, ensuring projects are well-documented.
- Oversees GFP/GFE accountability for government contracts.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Contract management execution.
- Ability to read and interpret government contracts and solicitations.
- Knowledgeable on CUI and OPSEC requirements.
- Capable of successful attainment of CAC card if needed.
- Experience with government data entry utilizing government web-based systems.
- Quality orientation and attention to detail.
- Problem analysis and resolution skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in high-performance teams and as a strong team player.
- Able to work with little guidance.
- Knowledge of manufacturing techniques, including design for manufacturability and lean manufacturing.
- Able to perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair tasks.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Qualifications
- BS Degree preferred.
- PMP Certification preferred.
- 10 years of industrial/government experience preferred.
Work Environment
The performance of this position will require exposure to manufacturing areas where certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection. For the most part, ambient room temperatures, lighting, and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment are present. Some travel is required for project support, mostly in an outdoor environment.

- Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist, or lifting as required to reach documents or store materials throughout the workday.
- Proper lifting techniques required.
