About the role

EY’s Government & Public Sector practice helps federal, state, local and education clients implement new ideas to achieve mission outcomes through consulting and audit services. As a member of the Transformation Execution Team, you will support US federal, state and local agencies in managing programs and projects, delivering measurable results and driving innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Support and improve Program Management operations, including integration, scope, time, cost, quality, human resources, communications, risk, procurement and stakeholder management
  • Apply PM knowledge to meaningful and complex projects while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and industry leaders
  • Collect and analyze data to develop innovative recommendations and methodologies for organizational, process and technology improvements
  • Deliver quality client services and establish enduring relationships with key stakeholders and client personnel
  • Stay current with business and industry trends relevant to clients’ businesses
  • Advance business acumen by learning from senior resources
  • Communicate and help implement EY US’ portfolio management, PM and project management methodologies
  • Develop people through leadership, coaching and mentoring of staff at all levels
  • Support people-related initiatives such as recruitment, retention, training and competency development

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with an emphasis in Finance, Accounting, Engineering or a business-related field
  • At least two years of consulting or relevant industry experience
  • At least one year of experience leading teams on engagements
  • Knowledge and experience in process improvement, stakeholder and customer engagement support, performance measurement or performance management, and performance measures and metrics development
  • Proven ability to proactively identify team and client needs
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage shifting priorities and changing client needs
  • Ability to mentor and develop staff
  • Attention to detail and commitment to excellence
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with one or more PM software packages, such as Microsoft Project or Oracle Primavera
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint
  • Willingness and ability to travel to client sites
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a secret/public trust clearance or higher

Ideal Experience

  • Prior consulting experience with a Big 4 firm or large global institution
  • Experience supporting client service projects, business development efforts and internal growth initiatives
  • Experience delivering services for project plans on medium to small projects
  • Experience with federal, state or local agencies, often gained by working in a Big Four global management consulting firm or a blue-chip company focused on the government and public sector

Pay

The base salary range for this role in all US geographic locations is $69,700 to $114,800. In the New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento), the range is $83,500 to $130,600. Individual salaries are determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.

Schedule

Travel expectations vary by practice: up to approximately 30% for federal roles and up to approximately 80% for state, local and education roles. Flexibility to travel within and beyond your geographic region may be required based on client and project needs.
