About the role

The Government & Public Sector Assurance practice of Ernst & Young LLP is growing exponentially. This role involves developing relationships with clients, understanding their business processes, and communicating potential audit issues.

Responsibilities

  • Develop knowledge of current issues and business developments relevant to the client's industry.
  • Build and maintain productive working relationships with client personnel.
  • Challenge procedures used in the past and enhance audit techniques.
  • Document the execution of specific audit procedures as defined by the engagement objectives.
  • Collaborate with assurance team members to set goals and responsibilities.
  • Contribute ideas and opinions to the assurance teams and listen to other team members' views.
  • Bring potential opportunities to the assurance team's attention.

Requirements

  • Top-Secret Clearance
  • Bachelor's or graduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Approximately 1 year of related work experience
  • Sufficient course work to achieve CPA certification upon passing the examination
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills
  • Dedication to teamwork and leadership

Skills

  • Recognize potential audit issues or unusual relationships from analysis of the financial statements and communicate them to the assurance team.
  • Clearly and accurately document the execution of specific audit procedures as defined by the engagement objectives, audit client's engagement history, and planned audit approach.
  • Stay informed of current business/economic developments relevant to the client's business.
  • Use technology to continually learn, share knowledge with assurance team members, and enhance service delivery.

Benefits

Our goal is to assign professionals to projects within a commutable distance of their work location office. In certain circumstances, travel may be required beyond your work location based on client and project needs. Candidates should be willing to travel on average 25% to 30% or more in a hybrid environment.

Pay

The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $64,200 to $105,900. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $77,200 to $120,300. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.

Schedule

Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
