Diageo Montgomery is a new 360,000 square foot manufacturing and warehousing facility in Montgomery, Alabama, with multi-million case annual production capacity for Diageo's leading beverage alcohol brands. This site will enhance the company's North America supply chain operations, support future growth for the export business, and reduce carbon emissions associated with logistics. The facility employs state-of-the-art technology for efficient water and energy usage.

Context/Scope
Provide direction, resourcing, and decisions regarding the implementation of management systems such as ISO22000, Global Finished Packaging Standards (GFPS), ZERO Harm strategy, and environmental sustainability.
Purpose Of Role
Focus on identifying, mitigating, and managing operating risks inherent in manufacturing site operations to protect the brands, people, and company reputation. Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with governmental legislation and Diageo policies and standards, leading governance strategies for Zero Harm, ISO/FSSC accreditation, and environmental sustainability, and participating in the site leadership team to provide strategic direction.
Responsibilities
- Gatekeeper of site Governance plans & systems for Safety, Quality, Food Safety, Environment, and Security
- Lead and develop a team of Governance Professionals (reports L5 and L6 roles)
- Ensure strategic improvement plans for safety, quality, and environmental critical metric non-conformances
- Track & report Governance critical metrics (Quality, Safety, Environment, Risk)
- Lead identification and timely resolution of safety & quality-related problems within the site; act as organizational lead for FACTS process for applicable site-related issues
- Embed site management systems which satisfy ISO 9000 / FSSC 22000 requirements and drive a continuous improvement/food safety culture
- Work closely with members of the site leadership team to share information and cooperate in joint improvement projects
- Roll out and embed Manufacturing Excellence Strategy throughout Governance driving sustainable critical metric improvements
- Troubleshoot supplier, production, and distribution issues
- Ensure compliance to site Governance programs through internal audit & assurance
- Build and maintain partnerships with Brand Technical Center, Procurement, NA Quality Org, and Supply Chain
- Ensure site operates efficiently and adheres to Diageo Global Risk Management Standards (GRMS)
- Assure completion of corrective action plans to address audit findings, improvement opportunities, customer and consumer complaints
- Effective two-way communication across all levels of the organization
Requirements
- 7+ years Governance experience in beverages, food, packaging, or a related industry
- In-depth knowledge of management systems and risk management within food or CPG production environments, including identification, assessment, control, crisis management, and business recovery plans
- Knowledge of internal processes and procedures and understanding of interfaces between Supply & Demand
- 4-year Bachelor's Degree or equivalent (preferably in a relevant physical science or engineering)
- Leadership of management systems across Quality and Assurance with specific experience in FSSC 22000 and ISO 9001 (preferred)
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Statistical Process Control

Pay
Salary range for this role in Montgomery, AL is from $112,575 to $187,625 (annual).
