Goshen Elementary- Swamp Part Time Daycare Aide 2026-2027

Classified, hourly position reporting to the Director of School Child Care.

Terms of Employment

• Full-time employees: 191 contract days on the board-approved 105 salary schedule.
• Part-time and seasonal employees: varying hours on the 105 salary schedule.
• Seasonal contracts are for one-year increments unless extended by the director.

Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• Two years’ experience in child care is desired.
• Ability to push, pull, or lift 40 pounds; kneel and reach above your head.

Responsibilities

• Assure the safety and wellbeing of children under supervision.
• Treat all children with dignity and respect, creating a safe environment that promotes positive behavior.
• Participate in childcare by actively engaging with students—circulating, assisting, and interacting.
• Assist with medical needs as determined by a physician or District Nurse.
• Help children with daily routines and personal needs such as clothing, lunch, snack, and cleanup.
• Maintain the appearance of the childcare room by cleaning and straightening furniture and equipment.
• Implement instructional procedures and other instructions from the Director.
• Support positive parent/staff relationships by communicating with the director about a child’s progress and needs.
• Assist in planning and supervising activities that promote positive child development.
• Respond to student misbehavior as outlined by the director and report any unsafe behavior directly to the director.
• Attend all required staff meetings and professional development.
• Abide by all Oldham County Board of Education policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of School Child Care or Principal.
