Google Data Engineer
About the role
Slalom's Google Center of Excellence (COE) focuses on enhancing client digital transformation through custom software, data, AI, and cloud products. As a Data Engineer in this COE, you will collaborate with clients to build world-class products using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services like BigQuery, Dataplex, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Vertex AI, Looker, and others.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and modernize enterprise data platforms on GCP
- Deliver solutions using BigQuery, Dataplex, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Vertex AI, Looker, and other Google Cloud services
- Implement real-time and batch pipelines
- Enable governed analytics
- Accelerate AI-ready data foundations
- Work in a hybrid environment, with expectations to be in-person with Slalom teams and clients as needed
Requirements
- Passion for Google Cloud and modern data engineering
- Continuous skill expansion through hands-on delivery, certifications, and collaboration
- Experience with Big Data Platforms (Dataproc, Apache Spark)
- Knowledge of Google BigQuery, BigLake, Cloud SQL, Python, Java, SQL, Firestore, Bigtable, Spanner, MongoDB, Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Apache Kafka, Managed Airflow, dbt, Dataplex
- Experience with Google Cloud services such as Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Apache Kafka, Managed Airflow, dbt, Dataplex
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment, with expectations to be in-person with Slalom teams and clients as needed

Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices, with a base salary pay range of $100,000 - $115,000 for Consultant, depending on experience.
Pay
The base salary pay range is $100,000 - $115,000 for Consultant, depending on experience. In addition, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
