About the role
Slalom's Google Center of Excellence (COE) is dedicated to enhancing client digital transformation through intelligent products, robust engineering systems, and innovative data products. Within Data Engineering, we specialize in leveraging modern cloud-native architectures, Google Cloud services, and advanced data technologies to support our clients' needs.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver enterprise-scale data platforms on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Architect solutions using BigQuery, Dataplex, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Vertex AI, Looker, Cloud Composer, and other Google Cloud services.
- Migrate and modernize data estates, implement real-time and batch data platforms, enable governed analytics, and accelerate AI-ready data foundations.
- Facilitate working design sessions with Slalom and client technical teams to ensure alignment on technical solutions.
- Lead the analysis, architecture, design, and delivery of the client’s next generation Google Cloud Data Platform Solution.
- Communicate trade-offs, benefits, risks, and implementation paths of your solution design to the combined Slalom and client team.
- Break down complex architecture into deliverable workstreams and ensure quality completion of development items.
- Participate in pre-sales activities including shaping Google Cloud data modernization approaches, defining technical solution options, supporting estimates and delivery plans, and partnering with business development teams to address prospect challenges.

- Self-starter with the ability to break down large problems into smaller ones.
- Effective communication skills to clearly describe trade-offs, benefits, risks, and implementation paths of your solution design.
- Experience migrating from AWS, Azure, Teradata, Hadoop, Informatica, Snowflake, or legacy data platforms to Google Cloud.
Skills
- Google Cloud Platform (GCP) solution architecture and enterprise data platform design.
- Google BigQuery, BigLake, Cloud Storage, and Cloud SQL.
- Dataproc, Apache Spark, and distributed data processing patterns.
- Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Apache Kafka, and event-driven architectures.
- Cloud Composer / Managed Airflow, dbt, and modern data workflow orchestration.
- Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer certification.
- Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect certification.
- Looker, Looker Studio, and semantic modeling.
- Vertex AI, MLOps, and AI-enabled data architecture.
- Experience with Gemini Enterprise, Firestore, Bigtable, Spanner, MongoDB, and cloud-native database design.
- Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Cloud Run, CI/CD, DevOps, and Infrastructure as Code.

Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices, offering a targeted base salary pay range of $115k-$146k with an annual discretionary bonus.
Pay
The targeted base salary pay range is $115k-$146k. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
Schedule
We are currently hiring at the following levels and targeted base pay salary ranges:
- Entry Level: $85k - $115k
- Middle Management: $115k - $146k
