Golf Sales Associate, Part-Time - The Golf Mart

About the Role

The Golf Sales Associate at The Golf Mart promotes and maintains a store culture consistent with Worldwide Golf’s values, including the “Sure No Problem” philosophy.

Responsibilities

• Maintain awareness of all golf product knowledge, terminology, merchandise promotions, demo merchandise, and sale advertisements.
• Evaluate customers’ needs, apply knowledge of golf equipment features and benefits, and make recommendations on the right golf equipment.
• Educate customers on golf products and help them compare differences to make informed decisions.
• Operate launch monitor and golf simulator equipment to provide customers with valuable data during in-store experiences.
• Assist with floor moves, merchandising, and keeping the sales floor organized and clean to meet Worldwide Golf’s standards.
• Research merchandise availability via computer database; requisition merchandise from the stockroom and take inventory of stock as needed.
• Once fully trained, recognize and suggest ways to improve processes.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Ability to spend work time standing or moving around the store.
• Physical activities include bending, stooping, lifting (up to 15 pounds), carrying, walking, and/or reaching on a frequent basis.
• Working knowledge of word-processing, spreadsheet, inventory, internet, and order processing systems.
• Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.

Qualifications

• Golf knowledge/background is required.
• Experience working in the golf industry is a plus (entry-level candidates will also be considered).

Pay

The hourly rate for this position is $12.00 - $18.00 per hour plus a commission rate between 1.75% and 6% based on department and product. Individual starting rate within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
