Golf Course Grounds Maintenance

About the role

Golf Course Grounds Maintenance is an entry-level position to aid the golf course maintenance team in small tasks related to mowing and course conditioning. Individuals should have the ability to operate primarily small equipment such as string trimmers, fly mowers, walking greens mowers, sand pro, and utility vehicles. Based on experience and quality of work, these operators may be requested to learn to operate larger equipment.

Responsibilities

• Mow fairways
• Wood working
• Painting
• Irrigation repairs
• Tree trimming
• Operate small equipment
• Walk mowing greens
• Set golf course; cut cups, move tee markers
• Hand raking and power raking bunkers
• String trimming creeks and other parts of the course
• Edging curbs
• Help to complete various small projects such as sodding, tree removal, bunker renovation, etc.
• Help ensure the maintenance facility is kept neat and clean and all equipment is being washed off properly

Requirements

• Ability to work outdoors, all seasons, and in all weather conditions
• Some landscape maintenance experience preferred, but not required
• 18 years in age by the start date
• Valid Driver’s License

Reports to Golf Course Superintendent - Assistant Superintendent.

Pay

Starting at $16 - $19+ per hour (DOE).

Schedule

Full-Time: Regular employee averaging 32 or more hours per week after 90 days
Part-Time: Regular employee averaging 31 or fewer hours per week after 90 days

Typical work week (Growing Season: May - September):
Monday - Friday: 6:30 am - 4:00 pm
Rotating Weekends (Saturday - Sunday): 6:30 am - 11:00 am

Typical work week (Fall/Winter: October - April):
Monday - Friday: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm
Rotating Weekends (Saturday - Sunday): 6:30 am - 11:00 am
