Responsibilities

  • Develop an environment that creates excitement for guests and employees
  • Maintain and direct the maintenance of the golf course tees, greens, fairways, cart paths, and adjacent facilities
  • Supervise the maintenance and repair of motorized and other mechanical equipment related to maintaining the golf course
  • Train, evaluate, discipline, and supervise staff to ensure they have adequate resources and guidance to achieve established objectives
  • Maintain team member safety and handle personnel discipline
  • Organize and manage the daily duties of the Golf Contract team members
  • Supervise and/or apply fertilizers and chemical applications
  • Calibrate and maintain application records for fertilizer and pesticide application equipment
  • Operate and maintain the irrigation system, pump station, and controls
  • Install and maintain various irrigation and drainage systems
  • Plan and supervise the maintenance of greens, tees, and fairways, as well as the planting, cultivating, pruning, and care of plants, shrubs, and trees
  • Instruct equipment operators on the operation and care of mowing and other equipment
  • Maintain and repair surrounding walkways, benches, drinking fountains, and adjacent appurtenances
  • Keep time for department team members and contract labor
  • Order and receive goods in accordance with policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Prefer Associate's Degree (A.A.)
  • Certificate or equivalent from a 2-year college or technical school
  • Equivalent experience and/or training
  • A minimum of 2-years prior golf course experience
  • Licenses: Valid driver's license, Louisiana Commercial Pesticide Applicator License in Turf/Ornamentals within 90 days of employment

  • Ability to prepare and maintain clear and concise reports and records preferred

Pay

Initial placement within the salary range is based on relevant knowledge, skills, and experience. Base salary is just one component of our competitive Total Rewards package.

Schedule

This position operates in a working environment that is subject to hazards associated with use of pesticides and general landscape care products, basic hand and power tools, and gardening/mowing equipment. This position generally works outside and is subject to all weather conditions. Proper clothing is provided.
