About the Role

The Golden Harvest Strategic Farm Partner will serve as the primary relationship manager and trusted advisor to progressive accounts farming 2,500+ acres in Central Iowa.

Responsibilities

  • Develop commercial execution for the responsible geography, considering individual farmers' Top Producer strategies and the competitive environment.
  • Lead relationship development and serve as the single point of contact for farmers.
  • Proactively visit farmers to understand their operations and specific needs, targeting those farming over 2,500 acres.
  • Provide early farm insights through analytics to assist growers.
  • Connect farmers with Syngenta solutions to address their pain points and day-to-day challenges.
  • Develop individualized touchpoint plans to ensure a personalized experience for each farmer.
  • Manage complex negotiations with farmers, focusing on strengthening relationships and achieving "win-win" outcomes while optimizing discretionary budget spend.
  • Advise farmers on farm operations by identifying the best products, services, and solutions to maximize yield and profitability.
  • Create and maintain a strong network of farmers, academics, agronomists, retailers, and leadership to bring value to the farm.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics, Business, Agronomy, or Agricultural Science.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in production agriculture (Seed sales, Agronomy, Grain Origination, Crop Protection, Digital Ag).
  • Must live in the territory (Central Iowa).
  • Demonstrated history of selling, servicing, and negotiating with 2,500+ acre growers.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of grower P&L and day-to-day farm operations.
  • Proven book of business and history of selling.
  • Expertise in agronomy with deep knowledge of both seed products and digital tools.
  • Experience managing medium to large-scale business operations.
  • Must have contacts at major accounts of 2,500+ acres and be able to effectively manage the sales process for million-dollar accounts.
  • Ability to establish and foster personal and strategic relationships with large growers, spanning beyond Syngenta product knowledge.
  • Ability to understand key issues and pain points with large growers and develop specific action plans.
