About the role
We're building an AI-powered platform that enables creation of real, data-connected applications by describing them in plain language. The platform combines a multi-step AI building agent, React-based authoring experiences, distributed backend services, isolated Kubernetes workspaces, and highly available AWS infrastructure. This is a hands-on, 6-12-month contingent assignment in a fast-moving environment.
Responsibilities
- Build and operate features using TypeScript, Python, Go, and Java languages.
- Improve AI agent workflows built with LangGraph, LangChain, and related frameworks.
- Create automated evaluations and tests for multi-step, branching AI experiences.
- Run load and performance tests across the agent, services, and runtime platform.
- Develop and operate Kubernetes controllers, custom resources, Helm charts, and GitOps-based deployments.
- Improve monitoring, structured logging, dashboards, alerting, failure recovery, and FMEA coverage.
- Support AWS infrastructure running on EKS, including networking, storage, deployment automation, and multi-region reliability.
- Troubleshoot issues end-to-end, from the browser and streaming layer through the agent, services, APIs, and infrastructure.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with ownership of complex production systems.
- Strong full-stack experience, including production React applications and distributed backend services.
- Experience working across TypeScript, Python, Go, and Java languages and codebases.
- Experience with using AI coding agents (Claude, Cursor) to develop code.
- Experience with AI Eval platforms and tools is a plus.
- Strong AWS experience with EKS, EC2, S3, VPC networking, and infrastructure as code using CDK or CloudFormation.
- Applied AI engineering - hands-on experience building or evaluating LLM-powered or agentic applications using Claude Agent SDK, LangGraph, LangChain, or comparable frameworks.
- Experience with websockets, streaming systems, and real-time user experiences.
- Production Kubernetes experience, ideally including CRDs, custom controllers or operators, Helm, and GitOps.
- Strong production observability and operational ownership, including logs, metrics, alarms, incident response, and reliability improvements.
- Experience building active-active or active-passive architectures is a plus.
- Ability to learn new systems quickly and work effectively through ambiguity.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
