Go-Kart Technician

About the role

Craig's Cruisers, located in Grand Rapids, is seeking a Go-Kart Technician to join their team. This position is full-time and offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced, energetic environment focused on guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Services and maintains fleet of 30-40 electric go karts
• Becomes familiar with any and all state regulations regarding proper maintenance and documentation
• Responsible for maintaining work area and back end in a neat and orderly manner
• Maintains a safe work environment and ensures all staff follows all safety rules
• Accepts other maintenance duties that can include, but are not limited to building maintenance and help with general maintenance of arcade games and attractions
• Keeps accurate bookkeeping records of deliveries, invoices, expenditures, etc.
• Keeps accurate documentation of repairs, parts inventory, and special projects
• Performs opening track and kart repairs and performance checks
• Maintains kart performance throughout the day
• Maintains track and facility appearance and functionality
• Responds to emergency situations as they arise
• Ensures that the pit, kart shop and track areas remain clean and safe
• Affords assistance to the track crew with track operations in limited situations
• Performs closing duties to secure the pit and track and prepare for the following day's operation

Qualifications

• Mechanical repair experience required, preferably in the golf kart, go kart, motorcycle, or Motorsports field
• Working knowledge of the Internet and Microsoft Office Professional
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
• Ability to write simple correspondence
• Ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with fractions and weight measurement, volume, and distance
• Willingness to learn, self-drive, and mechanical mindedness

Additional Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older
• Consistent activity such as walking, bending, and lifting
• Able to work holidays and weekends
