About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced automotive technician to join a high-performing service team. This role is ideal for a professional who takes pride in delivering accurate diagnostics, quality repairs, and exceptional customer service in a fast-paced shop environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic, maintenance, and repair work on a variety of vehicles with a focus on General Motors systems and technology.
- Accurately inspect, troubleshoot, and resolve mechanical and electrical issues.
- Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship and safety.
- Use factory-level service information, diagnostic equipment, and repair procedures to identify root causes.
- Communicate findings, recommended repairs, and completion status clearly to service advisors and team members.
- Document all work performed in accordance with shop and manufacturer standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area.
- Support team productivity and contribute to a positive, customer-focused shop culture.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an automotive technician with strong diagnostic and repair skills.
- GM certification or equivalent manufacturer training preferred or required, depending on shop needs.
- Ability to work confidently with engine, electrical, brake, suspension, HVAC, and drivability systems.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality repairs.
- Ability to use scan tools, diagnostic software, and technical repair information.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record may be required.
- ASE certifications are a plus.
Pay
Competitive flat-rate pay of $65.00 per flat rate hour, plus bonus opportunities. ($170k potential) Potential for strong earnings based on productivity and performance.
