About the role

The role of a General Merchandise Expert at Target provides an opportunity to:

• Engage with guests in a welcoming way to help solve their specific needs.
• Execute daily tasks assigned by leaders to support business priorities and achieve sales goals.
• Support guest services such as back-up cashier and digital fulfillment processes.
• Work in a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping times.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you complete your daily tasks.
• Thank guests and ensure they feel happy to shop at Target.
• Execute tasks such as receiving products, restocking shelves, organizing the backroom, arranging merchandise, and putting up promotional signs.
• Execute processes including changing prices, merchandise set-up and maintenance, and inventory accuracy.
• Learn about operational procedures and their impact on inventory management, store profitability, and product availability.
• Resolve guest questions quickly on the spot and demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
• Work in a safe manner at all times, complying with safety policies, best practices, and training.

Requirements

• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed.
• Work both independently and with a team.
• Attention to detail and follow a multi-step processes.
• Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail business fundamentals including: department sales trends, inventory replenishment, and process efficiency and improvement.
• Experience supporting a guest-first culture across the store.
• Experience executing daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and deliver on sales goals.

Skills

• Knowledge of guest service fundamentals.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed.
• Work both independently and with a team.
• Resolve guest questions quickly on the spot.

Pay

The Starting Hourly Rate / Salario por Hora Inicial is $17.50 USD per hour. The Pay Range / Rango salarial is $17.50 USD - $26.25 USD per hour.
