The General Merchandise Expert role focuses on store process and efficiency, ensuring product is set, in‑stock, accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. The team leads inbound, outbound, replenishment, and promotional signing for all General Merchandise areas, conducts inventory accuracy, merchandise set‑up and maintenance, pricing processes, and supports pick, pack and ship fulfillment.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests while completing daily tasks.
• Engage with guests in a welcoming way to help solve their specific needs when assistance is needed.
• Thank guests and let them know we’re happy they chose to shop at Target.
• Execute daily tasks assigned by your leader to help achieve goals aligned with business priorities, including receiving products, restocking shelves, organizing the backroom, arranging merchandise, and putting up promotional signs for GM areas.
• If certified, operate power equipment to move merchandise or store fixtures.
• Execute processes including changing prices, merchandise set‑up and maintenance, and inventory accuracy as directed by your leader for all areas.
• Learn how operational procedures affect inventory management, store profitability, and product availability.
• Be knowledgeable about resources, products, and services available in the total store and specific to your area to solve guest issues and improve their experience.
• Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance; work safely, comply with safety policies, report hazards.
• Support guest services such as back‑up cashier and digital fulfillment (picking, packing orders, delivering pickup orders) while maintaining compliance with adult beverage laws.
• Perform other duties based on business needs.

• Accurately handle cash register operations as needed.
• Climb up and down ladders.
• Scan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 lb without assistance.
• Reliable and prompt attendance.
• Capable of working in and exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing certain duties (e.g., Drive‑Up, carryout).
• Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift (shift length may vary).

Pay

Starting hourly rate: $16.75 USD per hour.
