Gluer Operator - 1st shift/2nd shift

Job Summary

This position is responsible for the set-up, adjustment, operation, maintenance, and trouble-shooting of all folder gluers and must ensure that all finished products meet customer specifications. He/She must consistently and efficiently perform and follow procedures in compliance to company, customer, and ISO standards.

Principal Job Responsibilities

  • Properly set up and monitor all gluing equipment during running process to assure cartons meet customer specifications.
  • Handle all routine and preventative maintenance of company equipment on a regular basis.
  • Stage product by following production schedule.
  • Assure the integrity of the product.
  • Notify the supervisor of defect trends, nonconforming gluing quality, and any orders that may be short.
  • Monitor quality throughout gluing process in order to remove and segregate unacceptable product.
  • Train all finishing crews and new glue operators.
  • Complete all paperwork for the gluers as needed.
  • Read job bag and ensure compliance with customer specifications.
  • Check approved samples for proper gluing and set up of cartons.
  • Responsible for Line Clearance in immediate work areas.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe working area at all times.

Safety Responsibilities

  • Must learn and comply with all Autajon Packaging Boston safety rules; reference to employee handbook.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience in General Manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of gluing machines.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude/skills.
  • Proficient level of English – Verbal & Written.
  • Ability to read and understand a Job Bag.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Excellent manual dexterity.
  • Demonstrate initiative in problem solving.
  • Must be attentive to detail and have excellent organizational skills.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time and perform repetitive manual tasks with frequent rotations.
  • Must be able to comprehend and follow all job procedures and safety protocols.

  • Employees must fulfill the performance standards of this position and comply with policies, rules and procedures of APBo, including those set out in the Employee Handbook or otherwise communicated (verbally or in writing) to employees.

Benefits

  • Compensation & Shifts
  • Hourly Rate: $30–$38, depending on experience
  • Shifts Available: 1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
