Global Trade Compliance

This position requires W2 employment through Donatech and US citizenship.

About the role

This role supports the investigation of matters of interest and preparation of disclosures related to instances of non-compliance. It requires advanced experience as a trade compliance professional, an understanding of how a trade compliance function supports business programs and functions, strong writing and communication skills, high organizational and follow-up abilities, and the capacity to complete detail-oriented tasks both independently and within a team.

Responsibilities

• Serve as an Empowered Official with expertise in compliance with US export and import laws, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
• Assist with internal investigations and prepare draft disclosures, including analysis of issues, development of findings, conducting interviews, and developing written summaries.
• Research regulations and prepare draft correspondence to US Government agencies.
• Support assigned compliance tasks, data calls, reporting requirements, record keeping, and file management.
• Participate in working groups, continuous improvement projects, process and procedure development, and training.
• Analyze, evaluate, develop, and implement processes and procedures within budget and time constraints.
• Exercise discretion and independent judgment in performing duties under delegation.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Experience working as an Empowered Official in the defense industry.
• Experience with OCR EMS export management software.
• US Person status (U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, or other person meeting ITAR 22 C.F.R. §120.62 requirements).
• Bachelor’s Degree and 8 years of experience in export control, including investigations, or Master’s Degree in export control (including investigations) and 6 years of experience, or JD and 4+ years of experience in export compliance investigations.
