About the role
Lunar Energy seeks a Global Trade and Logistics Manager to lead the company's complex freight and trade operations. This role requires extensive experience in transportation and trade compliance, particularly within a clean energy context.
Responsibilities
- Manage multi-modal freight movements across Lunar's network, ensuring compliance with Class 9 Hazmat regulations
- Define and maintain import/export processes, classify goods according to HTS and ECCN, and comply with state, federal, and international regulations
- Analyze production and tariff structures to minimize duty impacts, manage duty drawback initiatives, and oversee cross-border logistics
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess carrier performance, optimize inventory, and reduce total cost of ownership
- Lead the selection, vetting, and negotiation of carriers, brokers, and third-party logistics providers (3PLs), and develop Lunar's long-term fulfillment and distribution strategy
- Manage vendor relationships through regular quarterly business reviews (QBRs), root-cause analyses, and on-site audits to ensure compliance with Lunar's standards
- Train internal shipping personnel and external partners on Lunar's policies and maintain rigorous documentation and recordkeeping
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in transportation and trade compliance, preferably in a clean energy or manufacturing setting
- Customs Broker License (LCB) preferred
- Deep knowledge of HTS/ECCN classifications, the Commerce Control List, and Hazmat regulations (Class 9)
- Proficiency with ERP, WMS, or TMS platforms and Google Suite
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects that integrate supply chain, finance, and engineering
- Clear, effective communication skills to explain complex compliance requirements to various stakeholders
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field
- Experience: Relevant work experience in logistics, transportation, or trade compliance

- Strong understanding of customs regulations and trade compliance
- Expertise in managing cross-border logistics and supply chain operations
- Ability to analyze data and make strategic decisions to optimize logistics and reduce costs

Pay
The starting salary range for this position is $140,000 - $180,000 USD, depending on experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be determined based on individual qualifications and company policy.
