About the role
Redwood Materials is seeking a Global Supply Manager to oversee supplier relationships, support new product development, and manage manufacturing for wiring harnesses, cable assemblies, and connector systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end RFx processes — scoping requirements, issuing RFQs, evaluating responses, and driving supplier selection to award.
- Build and maintain should-cost models for wire harnesses and cable assemblies — decomposing copper, insulation, terminal, connector housing, and assembly labor cost — to anchor negotiations in first principles.
- Negotiate piece price, tooling, payment terms, and master agreements — ensuring contracts are in place before business is initiated and that commercial terms hold up at scale.
- Own the commercial relationship with key suppliers — tracking performance, managing escalations, and building the trust needed to move fast when it matters.
- Develop and execute commodity strategies across low and high voltage harnesses, OTS and custom connectors, terminal systems
- Drive supplier readiness across NPI, production ramp, and sustained manufacturing while thinking about cost, capacity planning, and lead time management
- Present clear recommendations to engineering and executive stakeholders.
Requirements
- Background in sourcing high voltage and/or low voltage wire harnesses, cable assemblies, and interconnect commodities
- Core understanding of cable cost drivers, assembly labor economics, connector qualification, and supplier dynamics across high-volume harness manufacturing.
- 5+ years sourcing experience in a similar role
- Strong excel and spreadsheet skills
- Strong project management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Flexible mindset and temperament.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally. Average 25% travel
Preferred Skills
- Experience with custom Cable Development
- Strong record of applying first principles thinking toward supplier negotiations.
- Capable of managing successful escalations up to the executive level within a supplier.
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems
Benefits
In accordance with California pay transparency laws, the salary range for this position is $135,000 - $215,000 USD. Actual compensation may vary based on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and skills.
Pay
The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
