Global Supply Manager, Fleet, Waste, and Facilities
About the role
SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make human life on Mars possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human exploration of the stars. We are a progressive procurement organization pushing the boundaries of traditional procurement reputation and methodologies. This role will support indirect supplier management, specifically within software services and SG&A spend reduction initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Be the voice of reason and push engineering to make sound design decisions that are conducive to a high performing supply plan.
- Negotiate complex global contracts, focusing on pricing structures, SLAs, and favorable commercial terms.
- Manage suppliers to ensure performance against KPIs and operational metrics.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that result in improved performance and cost reduction.
- Implement programs that audit supplier invoicing against actual work completed.
- Present value propositions to SpaceX executives, including those related to contract award, cost reviews and cost reduction strategies.
- Contract Management: Responsible for assisting in the authoring of contract documents with the Legal Department and management of contracts ensuring performance of the supplier to contract obligations.
- Execute purchase orders and manage escalation process for “purchase to pay” issues.
Qualifications
Advanced degree and 4+ years of experience working in one or more of the following; or bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of experience working in one or more of the following; or 10+ years of experience working in one or more of the following: Purchasing, Contract negotiation, Material or production planning, Operations or supply chain management, Material cost control, Master production scheduling.
Skills
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, or Tableau) to drive category insights.
- Remarkable problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize appropriately to meet internal customer and company needs.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with strong emotional intelligence and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of internal personnel.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to respond quickly to a fast-moving and ever-changing environment.
- Conducts all activities with the highest integrity.
Additional Requirements
- Willingness to work extended hours and weekends when needed to meet critical deadlines.
- Ability to communicate outside of work hours.
- Must be able to travel - up to 25% travel may be required.
- This position is based in McGregor, TX, and requires being onsite full-time – hybrid and remote work will not be considered.
