Global Senior Director of Commissioning
About the role
The Sr. Director of Commissioning is responsible for owning the global standard Commissioning Process document and program, enabling regional Commissioning Managers to successfully implement the standard and be a resource for regional Commissioning Managers.
Responsibilities
- Primary responsibility for owning the standard commissioning program globally.
- Enables the regional commissioning managers to implement the global commissioning program to include KPI’s and continuous improvement such that repeat deficiencies are not occurring and are not impacting commissioning activities.
- Rifines practices/policies and develops methods/techniques for driving solutions for commissioning procedures.
- Regularly reviews regional portfolio level construction progress, commissioning progress, issues, and KPI metrics and assists where necessary to deliver business results.
- This role requires occasional on-site presence with travel globally as needed to assist teams implementing the standard or projects that need additional support.
- Have responsibility for other assigned initiatives.
Requirements
- Demonstrated expertise in Commissioning of data centers.
- Technical knowledge of data center construction, means and methods, all systems with specialist knowledge on MEP systems.
- Experience leading large DC builds of 250+MW.
- Very strong experience in data center facility maintenance, operation and/or commissioning.
- Knowledge of Electrical and Mechanical Test Equipment.

Academic Qualifications & Certifications
- Required: Degree required – technical degree, electrical engineering preferred.
Experience
- 10 or more years in a data center environment managing projects and operations, including 5 years of Data Center commissioning experience.
- Data Center construction project management.
- Experience leading large DC builds of 250+MW.
- Very strong experience in data center facility maintenance, operation and/or commissioning.
- Knowledge of Electrical and Mechanical Test Equipment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift heavy equipment, up to 50 lbs.
- Use of sight, hearing and voice are required as well as motor skills.
- Close visual work on a computer terminal.
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate any required to operate computer keyboard, mouse, and other technical instruments.
- Ability to climb ladders and worked on raised platforms.
- Ability to transition through construction projects at every phase safely.
Work Conditions & Other Requirements
- This position is expected to be remote for the foreseeable future with occasional need to be on site.
- Typical data center work environment with varying temperatures and loud noises.
- Extensive daily usage of a computer or workstation.
- Travel up to 35%, to ensure quality, commission and deliver the project as client turn over dates require.
- Perform work from a remote location with stable internet connection.
- Must be comfortable working in a high stress, fast paced environment shifting priorities.
- Must be willing to work outside normal business hours, including weekends, late nights, holidays, and on-call support.
- Must be available by cell phone after hours or for emergency situations.
- CPR/First Aid Certified.
PAY RANGE
Pay range for this position is $195,700 - $310,000. All regular full-time employees are eligible for an annual bonus; payout is dependent upon individual and company performance.
