Global Program Manager - SAP/FinTech, Amazon Leo Finance Acceleration
About the role
Join Leo, Amazon’s long-term initiative to design, launch, and maintain a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites providing low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities globally. This is a ground-floor opportunity in a start-up environment within Amazon, aimed at building a next billion-dollar business. We are seeking a Program Manager who is passionate about technology and information systems, thinks and acts globally, and excels at creating and implementing solutions.
The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with strategic thinking, enabling them to work effectively with technology while driving broad Amazon Leo initiatives. You will tackle a wide range of problem-solving situations, requiring deep understanding of technical infrastructure and stakeholder expectations.
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of system implementation projects from design through deployment and support, including SAP and non-SAP solutions, integrations with Amazon Corporate systems, third-party solutions, and bespoke development.
- Build agile delivery plans and deployment project plans, actively managing risks and issues that impact successful delivery.
- Manage the project backlog, apply agile principles to plan sprints, and manage cross-team dependencies.
- Gather business requirements to develop use cases, partner with development and technical teams to build required features, and clearly communicate dependencies while tracking and resolving exceptions.
- Drive project schedules from design to release, manage production launches, and use metrics to provide status updates.
- Relentlessly simplify and demonstrate innovation, creativity, and good judgment when solving challenging problems.
- Drive best practices on the team, deal with ambiguity and competing objectives, and proactively identify and mitigate risks before they become roadblocks.
- Write effective narratives and present them concisely and effectively to senior management.
- Develop program and team processes and tools as required.
- Build deployment project plans and manage risks impacting successful delivery.
- Develop use cases by gathering business requirements, work with software development to build required features, clearly communicate dependencies, and manage/track exceptions.
- Participate in Proof of Concepts (POCs) sessions to ensure proposed solutions meet business requirements.
- Actively manage Unit Testing, System Integration Testing, User Acceptance Testing, regression testing, and user training.
- Navigate high levels of ambiguity and drive alignment across cross-functional stakeholder groups.
- Communicate project status clearly and concisely to broad audiences, and follow escalation paths to keep delivery on track.
- Apply a strong program management background to lead large, complex, cross-organizational projects, supported by a well-rounded technical foundation.
About the team
Leo (formerly Kuiper) Finance Technology (LFT) is part of the Devices and Services (DaS) FinTech team supporting Leo Finance. LFT provides program management, SAP product, and BI reporting solutions to support Leo business initiatives.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of program or project management experience.
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements.
- Experience owning program strategy, end-to-end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership.
- Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience.
- Master's degree or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design, or related field.
- Knowledge of general AI tools.
- Experience designing, implementing, and scaling upskilling, apprenticeship, or workforce development programs across large-scale operations or corporate environments, including forecasting workforce needs and leveraging analytics to drive program decisions.
Pay
The base salary range for this position is as follows:
- New York, NY: $127,200 - $185,000 USD annually
- Arlington, VA: $115,600 - $160,000 USD annually
- Bellevue, WA: $115,600 - $160,000 USD annually
Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
