About the role

Take on a challenging and rewarding position as a Global Mobility Tax Associate at JP Morgan Chase, where your expertise will support employees navigating international relocations and cross-border travel. In this role, you'll manage tax and social security compliance for a diverse group of globally mobile professionals, including expatriates, permanent transfers, business travelers, and US Persons abroad. Collaborate with experts across HR, compensation, and payroll to deliver seamless support and expert guidance, developing specialized skills and driving impactful solutions in a dynamic, global organization.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a global mobility tax subject matter expert, responding to queries on international assignment tax policies from Global Mobility teams, HR business advisors, business managers, vendors, and employees.
  • Partner with Stock Administration Teams, Cash Comp Teams, and Overseas Offices to determine multi-country sourcing and global income tax and Social Security withholding requirements for:
    • Stock Awards (RSUs)
    • Process & Mid-Year Deferred compensation payments
    • Process & Mid-Year Cash bonus payments
    • Term/Severance payments, Stock Options, and other Executive Comp payments
  • Advise clients on the tax implications of assignments, including multi-country taxation of transfer-year bonuses, equity, and other deferred compensation.
  • Coordinate with external tax service providers on annual tax return preparation, authorizations, and related services.
  • Review payroll tax compliance and coordinate with multiple payrolls.
  • Review Global Mobility compensation reports and Form W-2 to ensure proper payroll reporting, particularly in researching and resolving discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with tax service providers on income tax gross-ups, estimated tax payments, and tax advance payments.
  • Support the proactive management of the firm-wide regulatory and control agenda.

Requirements

  • College/University degree.
  • Strong Excel, Alteryx, data analytics, and data integrity analysis skills.
  • Understanding of equity sourcing, tax instructions, payroll withholding requirements, US tax settlement calculations, and global expatriate tax implications.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented with attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure within tight deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills, project, and change management experience.
  • Ability to make sound business decisions and know when to escalate issues.
  • Solid communication skills, including experience conducting counseling sessions or providing expatriate tax advice.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of Global Mobility tax experience; Big 4 experience preferred.

Pay

Competitive total rewards package including base salary determined based on role, experience, skill set, and location. Eligible roles may receive commission-based pay and/or discretionary incentive compensation.
