About the role

The Global Indirect Tax Automation Senior Associate will implement and build third party tax systems with major third-party ERP and billing platforms (SAP, Oracle, Workday, PeopleSoft, Great Plains), as well as custom billing systems for clients. They will collaborate with team members, practice leadership, and our diverse client base, playing a key role in requirements gathering, design, build, and testing implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Work on assigned third-party tax software implementations (Vertex, Avalara, Sovos, Thomson Reuters) and custom software development projects
  • Manage assigned system integration projects involving major ERP and billing systems, such as SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards, etc.
  • Manage programming for custom system interfaces and modification of preexisting interfaces
  • Manage testing and support of assigned system go-live projects
  • Develop and deliver key project documentation including requirements documents, design documents, and test plans
  • Participate in Sales meetings and Proposal Development meetings
  • Network and develop key relationships both within Grant Thornton and externally

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related technical field
  • Three to five years of experience with SAP/Oracle functional and/or technical experience
  • Two years of Oracle EBS/ERP Cloud/SAP ABAP Design and Development experience
  • Deep technical understanding of SAP or Oracle, including customization path, table structures, and core functional Order-to-Cash and Procure-to-Pay streams
  • SAP Namespace development a plus
  • Experience writing documentation for ERP implementations
  • Experience managing and developing team members for these types of implementations
  • Experience in public accounting is a plus
  • Strong computer skills required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel as needed

Pay

The base salary range for this position is between $111,320 and $141,933. Placement within the pay range is at Grant Thornton's discretion, based on multiple factors including but not limited to, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, progression within the role, geographic location, and internal equity.

Schedule

This position requires in-person attendance at least three days per week, either at a GT office or client site. Consistent with the firm's hybrid work model, the role supports work-life integration options that work best for you and those in your household.
