Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of scalable, differentiated technology platforms that support Americhem's global Healthcare market strategy.
- Drive the evaluation and development of new raw materials, additive technologies, and processing methods to deliver innovative, market-leading solutions.
- Integrate customer needs, competitive intelligence, regulatory requirements, and sustainability objectives into product development programs.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a global team of engineers and scientists, providing technical leadership, coaching, and performance guidance.
- Oversee project scope, resource allocation, milestone tracking, and execution to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality expectations.
- Utilize Americhem's stage-gate innovation process and development systems to manage project visibility, execution, and continuous improvement.
- Partner with Global Market Managers to align technology roadmaps with commercial strategies, customer priorities, and long-term business growth objectives.
- Collaborate with Regional Design Teams to ensure successful technology transfer, technical documentation, and application-specific product adaptations.
- Build strong customer relationships by presenting technical capabilities, supporting development initiatives, and identifying new application opportunities.
- Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, healthcare regulations, and competitive developments while supporting intellectual property strategy and innovation initiatives.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by tracking key performance metrics, improving development workflows, and maintaining robust technical documentation and knowledge management.
- Champion talent development and sustainability by mentoring team members and incorporating sustainability principles into platform design, including recyclability, bio-based materials, and product durability.
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Polymer Science, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related field with 10+ years of relevant industry experience required; candidates with a bachelor’s degree and 15+ years of experience will also be considered.
- Healthcare product development experience in medical devices, surgical instruments, drug delivery systems, diagnostics, or related applications.
- Knowledge of applicable healthcare regulations and standards, including ISO and USP requirements.
- Expertise in polymer processing, compounding, formulation development, material characterization, DOE, and statistical analysis.
- Strong understanding of healthcare market needs with the ability to translate customer requirements into innovative product solutions.
- Proven technical leadership, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience leading products from concept through commercialization.
