Global Category Manager Services Procurement, Infrastructure Planning and Sourcing, Infrastructure Planning and Sourcing
About the role
Amazon Web Services (AWS) provides a highly reliable, scalable, and low-cost cloud platform that powers thousands of businesses in over 190 countries. AWS’ Infrastructure Supply Chain (AIS-SC) organization works to deliver innovative solutions to source, build and maintain our socially responsible data center supply chains. We are a team of highly-motivated, engaged, and responsive professionals who enable the core sustainable infrastructure of AWS. Come join our team and be a part of history as we deliver results for the largest cloud services company on Earth! We are currently seeking a highly creative, results-driven and forward-thinking senior procurement leader to join our IPS Procurement team.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of procurement managers across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific regions, owning the goods and services portfolio that keeps data center operations running — including maintenance, repair and operations services, security services and equipment, and environmental health and safety services.
- Build and refine category strategies that scale alongside AWS's growth, ensuring internal customers across the globe have a consistently positive procurement experience.
- Develop strong partnerships with suppliers to drive long-term, mutually beneficial outcomes while holding your team accountable for delivering measurable results that directly impact Amazon's bottom line.
- Lead a global team of procurement managers to develop and execute regional and global category strategies that scale procurement support in step with AWS's expanding infrastructure.
- Build and strengthen supplier qualification programs, mitigate supply-base risk, and drive executive-level engagement with key strategic suppliers.
- Partner with internal automation teams to optimize and automate procurement processes, improving efficiency and scalability across multiple tools and systems.
- Establish regular business review cadences across regions and with internal customer leadership to align procurement priorities with operational needs.
- Define and track performance metrics to evaluate team effectiveness, inform business decisions, and drive continuous process improvement across procurement operations.
A day in the life: Your morning may start with a strategy review alongside your regional procurement leads, aligning on category priorities for an upcoming data center launch. You then shift to a supplier executive meeting to negotiate terms on a critical services contract. After lunch, you connect with internal automation teams to review progress on a process optimization initiative before checking performance dashboards with your team. You close out by coaching one of your managers on a complex stakeholder engagement, helping them navigate competing priorities across regions.
