Roles & Responsibilities
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for field equipment and rental categories, including Artificial Lift, Completions, and Drilling technologies.
- Develop sourcing strategies considering equipment lifecycle, reliability, utilization, and repair/refurbishment economics.
- Support operational readiness by addressing equipment compatibility, deployment constraints, uptime, and recovery timelines.
- Define and implement technical, commercial, and contractual standards in collaboration with Engineering and Product Lines.
- Conduct spend, demand, and utilization analysis to support sourcing decisions (e.g., rental vs. purchase).
- Drive standardization initiatives while balancing customization requirements and operational needs.
- Lead sourcing initiatives including RFP/RFQ processes, supplier selection, and contract negotiations.
- Perform risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies for category plans.
- Establish and maintain a robust supplier base, including strategic partnerships and performance management frameworks.
- Conduct regular supplier performance reviews (monthly/quarterly) with key suppliers.
- Develop and monitor supplier scorecards and key performance indicators (KPIs) related to cost, quality, and delivery.
- Ensure alignment and adoption of category strategies across global, regional, and local teams.
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives and best practices across sourcing operations.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and align sourcing strategies.
- Communicate effectively with leadership regarding sourcing decisions, progress, and recommendations.
- Support a stakeholder-focused environment through proactive engagement and communication.
Financial Performance
- Identify opportunities to reduce total cost of ownership and deliver measurable cost savings.
- Ensure sourcing strategies align with business objectives and financial targets.
- Support implementation of contracts and agreements across global and regional operations.
People Development
- Provide mentorship, training, and onboarding support to team members.
- Support performance management processes and employee development initiatives.
- Promote knowledge sharing and capability development within the organization.
Leadership & Strategy
- Partner with Product Line and Operations leadership to implement category strategies and performance improvement plans.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend innovative solutions.
- Define global category strategies while enabling regional execution within approved guidelines.
Experience & Education
- Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 7–10 years of experience in strategic sourcing, category management, or supply chain roles.
- Experience supporting oilfield equipment, rentals, or service-based categories.
- Working knowledge of Artificial Lift, Completions, and/or Drilling technologies.
- Experience with supplier negotiations, including international agreements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a global and cross-functional environment.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree (MBA or related discipline).
- 10+ years of relevant experience in category management or sourcing.
- Experience in supplier relationship management and global sourcing environments.
- Knowledge of oil and gas supply markets.
- Experience with rental or asset-intensive business models.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPM, CPP).
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Familiarity with Oracle, JD Edwards, or similar ERP systems.

Work Environment & Requirements
- Work Schedule: Standard business hours.
- Work Environment: Office-based with occasional field exposure.
- Travel: Approximately 20–30%.
