About the role

The Global Category Manager, Capital & COE, will lead Global Capital Procurement for Ingredion’s ~$300M+ category spend. This role involves collaborating with regional and global procurement teams to develop and execute strategies, drive cost savings, ensure schedule adherence, and enhance service and quality levels.

Responsibilities

• Deliver on Ingredion’s capital plan and execute sourcing events to reduce costs, meet schedules, and improve service and quality.
• Develop, execute, and evaluate competitive bids, providing recommendations based on operational best practices.
• Guide the business through the sourcing process, offering insights, advice, and resources (e.g., tools and processes).
• Create a centralized category management approach and strategies for key equipment.
• Build and develop talent within the global category management team.
• Support performance, risk, and relationship reviews at the supplier level.
• Partner with front-line business stakeholders to drive alignment and adherence to procurement policies.
• Ensure adherence to the company’s procurement technology platforms such as SAP and Power Steering.
• Drive Center of Excellence for Global CAPEX by improving templates for contracting, RFx, supplier qualification, and supplier performance scorecards.
• Standardize global CAPEX processes and policies.
• Analyze and identify additional levers at global and local scales.
• Collaborate with local category managers to support regional strategy execution.
• Support regional CAPEX labor markets, including engineering services.
• Contribute to maintenance strategy for US/CAN maintenance labor.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply management, engineering, life science, or a related discipline.
• At least three years of procurement/purchasing experience, with a focus on capital procurement and indirect parts/services.
• Strong financial and business acumen related to procurement.
• Technical, plant operation, or engineering experience is preferred.
• Ability to quickly internalize new information and become a subject matter expert.
• Experience working both independently and as part of a team.
• In-depth knowledge of purchasing practices, policies, and procedures.
• Proficiency in SAP Ariba, SAP Fieldglass, and PowerSteering as value-creating tools.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting management expectations.
• Demonstrated success collaborating with multiple internal stakeholders.
• Passion for managing and developing employees in alignment with company values.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, with excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent analytical and financial acumen, including cost modeling, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.

Pay

Pay range: $102,100.00 - $136,166.67 annually. Final base salary will be determined based on factors such as job responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, internal equity, and market alignment. This role may also be eligible for the Ingredion Annual Incentive Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus.
