Qualifications
- 5–8+ years in benefits program management, with experience across at least one APAC or EMEA market in addition to the US
- Deep knowledge of ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, and state leave laws (US); working knowledge of statutory benefits frameworks in Malaysia, Singapore, China, Taiwan, and UK
- Experience with HRIS/benefits platforms (Workday, UKG, or similar) supporting multi-country operations
- Strong vendor management and negotiation skills, including global broker relationships
- Analytical mindset with experience presenting cost/utilization data to leadership
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field; CEBS or GRP (Global Remuneration Professional) certification a plus
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day administration of Global health/welfare, retirement (401k), leave, and wellness programs
- Lead annual open enrollment planning, vendor renewals, and rate negotiations
- Partner with brokers/carriers to benchmark plans against market and budget targets
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, and applicable state/federal regulations
- Manage benefits vendor relationships and SLAs (carriers, TPAs, COBRA administrator)
- Oversee leave of absence programs (FMLA, STD/LTD, state leave laws) in partnership with legal
- Analyze utilization data and costs; recommend plan design changes
- Serve as escalation point for complex employee benefits issues
- Manage annual filings (5500s, non-discrimination testing, SOC reports)
- Lead or support wellness initiatives and financial wellbeing programs
- Partner with global HR/mobility and in-country brokers to design and administer benefits across international locations
- Develop and deliver benefits plan education for employees while leading the end-to-end Open Enrollment strategy and execution
Additional Responsibilities (Global)
- Maintain in-country compliance calendars and partner with local legal/payroll on statutory changes
- Standardize core benefits framework while allowing local flexibility for market competitiveness
- Manage relationships with global benefits brokers/consultants (e.g., Mercer, Aon, WTW) for multi-country benchmarking
- Support harmonization of benefits during entity setup, carve-outs, or M&A across regions
- Ensure consistent employee communications and enrollment experience across geographies, adapted for local language/regulatory needs
Compensation
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $125,000 to 150,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, qualifications, and business needs.
